After receiving his medical degree from the University of New Mexico, Dr. Burg pursued the practice of clinical pathology for over 30 years. Dr. Burg is certified in both clinical and anatomical pathology. Previous to joining our team, Dr. Burg served as the VP of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA for over a decade. With his leading expertise in clinical operations and education, Westox Labs anticipates our clients will continue to receive exceptional laboratory services.
Katerina is the Chief Scientific Officer at Westox Laboratories with over 10 years specializing in Toxicology. She earned her degree as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist from the University of West Florida. Katerina joined Westox labs in 2014 and played an integral role in setting up the laboratory from the ground up.
Prior to joining Westox, she worked at SCC Laboratory Information Systems, as a Biochemistry and Molecular Product Analyst. Working with clients like the Mayo Clinic, Balor College of Medicine, and the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto, CA, Katerina configured specific laboratory workflows into a specialized lab management software.
Currently, Katerina is optimizing current assays and developing new assays for clinical toxicology using high-pressure liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry.
Kascion Outland is the Clinical Toxicologist Scientist and Laboratory Technical Supervisor at Westox Labs. He has more than 10 years of experience in analytical chemistry along with 7 years of experience in Toxicology. Kascion holds a BS in Chemistry from Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Prior to joining Westox Labs, he worked at River Crossing Labs in Tampa, FL, where his responsibilities included overseeing the clinical chemistry department processes and workflow, method research and development, analytical data analysis and reporting, client relations and marketing, along with training incoming personnel in the laboratory and licensed clinical training program.
Kascion also served in the United States Air Force (Savannah, GA unit). There he worked in A.T.O.C. and led new personnel in the Air Transportation field. Serving in the Air Force allowed Kascion to gather a wealth of world knowledge and life experiences on his many travels.
